Dennis Rose Intercollegiate Golf Tournament

October 27, 2019 - October 30, 2019

Sunday through Wednesday, October 27th through 30th

Some of the top NCAA Division II men’s and women’s golf teams in the west will make their way to the Big Island at the end of the month for the Dennis Rose Intercollegiate.

University of Hawai`i Hilo will serve as the host, a tradition that began in 2005. The tournament is named after the late Dennis Rose, a former director of golf and president at Waikoloa. The tournament was named after him after he passed away at the age of 59 in 2007, after a two-year battle with cancer.

“We want to make this one of the best Division II tournaments in the country,” said Vulcan head coach Earl Tamiya, who already runs one of the best Division I tournaments with February’s Amer Ari Invitational. “Dennis was hugely instrumental in supporting the Hilo Junior Golf program and Hawaii Hilo golf for many years.”

The Dennis Rose men’s tournament will feature 17 teams, and the women’s version will have 11 universities coming to the Big Island. The Vulcan men, who have won the tournament five times, are the defending champions. The women’s tournament, which is experiencing a rebirth after two years off, was last won by Academy of Art in 2016.
