The 25th Amer Ari Invitational - The Greatest of Collegiate Golf Returns to Waikoloa

The Amer Ari will once again provide a stage for the best golfers the collegiate world has to offer. They will gather under blue skies and swaying palms at the luxurious Waikoloa Resort on the Big Island of Hawaii.

Now in its 25th year, the invitational tournament has been the nexus for the greatest in golf including Matt Kuchar, Tiger Woods, Bob May, Jordan Speith and many more. This year will be no different. Participants include teams from the University of Hawaii at Hilo, the University of Hawaii at Manoa, Oregon, UCLA, USC, Colorado and others.

They will gather on the Kings' Course, one of two delightful courses that Waikoloa Golf has to offer. A gorgeous expanse of Tifton 328 Bermuda grass fairways set against a backdrop of some of the most majestic volcanic mountains in the world. The pristine vibrant greens that contrast with lava rock so black that it seems to devour the abundance of tropical sunshine. The popular course opened in 1981, was designed by former British Open Champion Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish.

The 7,074-yard Par 72 Kings’ Course is an exploration through the lava fields, rolling fairways and cavernous pot bunkers. The course features a double green on more than one hole, but the signature 5th hole is a challenge that defies physics where trade winds routinely deny even the most skillful of that apparently easy eagle and lead a novice on an often fruitless lava field search for that elusive ball.

Waikoloa Golf along with the University of Hawaii at Hilo invites all to enjoy the youngest and brightest at the 25th annual Amer Ari Invitational Feb. 3-6, 2016. Play starts at 7:30 a.m. each day. Admission is free and the thrills are memorable. Add a comment
